Hi, I'm Adam (he/him), I'm an MBACP qualified person-centered therapeutic counsellor practicing in Leeds City centre (LS1) where I give you the time and the space you need to go on your counselling journey through talking therapy.
My approach works on the basis that only you are the expert on you and I can help you to discover what your own answers might be, what may be causing you anxiety, loneliness, or whether you need better coping skills. I will allow you to discuss your life journey openly without judgement.
I have extensive personal experience of completing my own healing following a brain injury which significantly interrupted my teenage years. Following this, PTSD (although not diagnosed) was a huge factor in my recovery and a search for a greater and better me.
The silent struggles I encountered trying to find my way in a world that simply does not know led me to working with individuals who may have witnessed/been apart of/or have been made aware of trauma in their own lives that they have simply not had the room or freedom to speak about.
My road to self-actualization (recovery) took many years, but allowed me to develop a self-awareness that comes with increased empathy, the understanding and the patience to work with others who have internal struggles and a voice that isn't being heard.
I will provide a therapeutic space that is comfortable, is adapted to alleviate sensory or emotional stress, is designed for you to speak openly and freely at your pace, and allows you to engage deeply in the therapeutic process.

I will provide a therapeutic space that is comfortable, is adapted to alleviate sensory or emotional stress, is designed for you to speak openly and freely at your pace, and allows you to engage deeply in the therapeutic process.
My approach works on understanding and affirming who you really are, whilst exploring your life experiences and gaining a deeper understanding of your relationships within it.
I offer unlimited counselling sessions and we will work collaboratively to help alleviate your distress whilst building a better understanding of you.
The most important aspect of any therapeutic relationship is the relationship that develops between you (the client) and me (the therapist) so no matter who you are, how old you are, or what circumstances/difficulties you bring, I will be alongside you so you are able to make the changes you want to make in your life so you can be a better you.
My recovery and journey to becoming a talking therapist has shown me that even though we share many life experiences that can appear similar to every person involved, what is going on in our own minds stands uniquely to us. My personal experience of trauma and helping those who bring this to the therapy room means that I will always meet you with UPR (unconditional positive regard) and help you steer towards a new understanding of yourself, your relationships with others, and a self-awareness that compliments this.
Whilst I welcome all inquiries and am not limited to any specific presented difficulty, I do have a wealth of experience with the areas listed below.

Whilst I welcome all inquiries and am not limited to any specific presented difficulty, I do have a wealth of experience with the areas listed below.
Unexplained distress or anxiety - Identify the root causes of your problems through free exploration of yourself, your history, and your current reality. We will focus on small steps to growth rather than specific goals.
Relationship issues - Addressing current relationship difficulties with an exploration of previous relationships and how these may be causing distress and anxiety with a focus on communication within your current relationship free from social stigma.
Trauma & PTSD - Acknowledging and hearing about your experience of trauma and allowing you to express yourself in ways that reflect your true, whole self whilst prioritizing physical and psychological safety and trustworthiness.
My approach will help you to find empowerment and regain a sense of satisfaction and control in your life.

I began my counselling journey with UKCN in Drighlington and worked with a variety of clients during this experience. I work with both men and women and have developed a special interest in helping adults through unresolved traumatic early years events that has resulted in emotional numbness, distrust, and physical ailments. It was here that I came to fully appreciate the bravery and willingness of clients to attend counselling in the first place which I fully acknowledge in the counselling session.
Following my voluntary counselling work at UKCN I now work in a paid and voluntary capacity for Phoenix Health and Wellbeing, a local charity where I am still part of the counselling team today. Here, I work with a multitude of clients from different backgrounds where I use my skills, experience, and theories in a person-centered way to build honest, secure, and safe relationships.
As well as practicing at Phoenix Health and Wellbeing I also work as a counsellor at Gasped in Wakefield where I work with predominantly male clients who are working through domestic abuse difficulties and health complications impacting conflict resolution and an ability to move forward.
I now run my own private clinic at Park Place Practice in Leeds City Centre and I am here to listen and provide a comfortable space where you can start your therapeutic journey.
I welcome all inquiries.
